

October 11, 2008 will allow Hokie fans to take a break from football and enjoy a day for the dogs! Pawsitive Hokeez and the Cancer Research Staff at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine will be sponsoring The Dog Walk Against Cancer. A fun event that brings dogs and owners together in an effort to raise funds for students and their research projects. The Center for Comparative Oncology is a cancer research based organization within Virginia Tech's Veterinarian College that uses cancer research projects with animals to discover cures that can be related back to human treatments. Come on out and enjoy a day of education and fun with all the dogs and staff from Virginia Tech while helping to continue their research. Click here to get all the info and registration forms.

Pawsitive Hokeez participates in rescuing 200 puppies from puppy mill in Virginia. Christy Smith, Shelley Pittman of Pawsitive Hokeez help Mike of Best Friends (www.bestfriends.org) who purchased the puppies from the mill, stand by the truck to take the puppies to a no-kill-sanctuary in New York.
